About this book
Every boy needs a good dog. This is how Troy found his. Every Saturday, Troy and Grandpa sat on the same green bench by the duck pond. Grandpa had a special name for Troy, and a promise: "One day, you'll see." Then one spring morning, Grandpa was gone, and the days turned gray. On the first walk back to Maple Park, Troy hears a small, sad sound under the bushes. Two big round eyes peek out. A shivering puppy with no collar, no tag, and no one. Troy knows that feeling.
