About this book
What does a dog do when a giant bird moves into the kitchen? A cold, featherless bird comes home with Mom and goes into the cold box. Chico sits guard. Then the bird goes into the HOT box and vanishes. The table grows extra legs. Strangers arrive who turn out to be family. And everyone holds hands and says a word Chico has never heard: thankful. By the end of the day, Chico still doesn't know the word. But he knows the feeling. It has Troy's hand on his head.
